Yosimitu Kajiya

Yosimitu Kajiya is a blacksmith workshop based on the Shimabara Peninsula in Nagasaki Prefecture. Established in 1937, it is now led by the third generation bladesmith Junichi Ide, who forges traditional kurouchi style kitchen knives and farming tools entirely by hand. Ide san’s knives are rustic, light, and extremely sharp. Since each knife is handcrafted, no two pieces ever look the same, which is what makes them truly unique and special. Rooted in the rich metalworking history of the Kyushu region, Yosimitu continues to preserve classical forging techniques that many modern manufacturers have long abandoned, keeping an old tradition alive with every blade made.
